Three Sporty Ways to Go Sightseeing


A SightJogging tour of London, a London bicycle sightseeing tour and a free Friday Night Skate are three unique, healthy and environmentally-friendly ways to see London and keep fit at the same time. London Skate Tour Jogging on the Streets of London Guided sightseeing on the run, or SightJogging, is offered by London’s City Jogging Tours. The group offers scheduled daily jogging tours around London with an experienced guide. The tours follow six different routes and take in some of the most famous tourist attractions in London as well as fascinating neighbourhoods and areas, including London’s beautiful parks. There are tours for all types of joggers from beginners to experienced runners.

The tours should be booked via the City Jogging Tours website. Prices start from £26.00/person and the company also offers customized tours for individual runners and for groups. Tour London’s Sights by Bicycle See London’s sights on two wheels: Cycle Tours of London offers daily guided sightseeing tours on bicycles. The tours depart throughout the year and take participants around London’s biggest tourist attractions and off the beaten path sights. Tour guides lead their groups on sightseeing routes that avoid busy roads, using cycle lanes, river paths and other quieter routes instead. Cyclists of all levels of experience can join the tours. Tours offered include a Sights of London tour and an East End Tour and they last around 3,5 hours. Prices start at £18.00 and bicycle hire is included in the cost of the tour. Tours should be booked via the Cycle Tours of London site. The Friday Night Skate The Friday Night Skate is a free London rollerskating tour that has been going on for years and continues to be extremely popular amongst London’s skaters. The Friday Night Skate starts every Friday at 8 pm from the Duke of Wellington Arch in the Hyde Park Corner. The skate lasts approximately two hours, is around 12 miles long and usually returns to the starting point. The route changes every week and details are posted on the FNS website. Depending on the weather, the Friday Night Skate goes on every week throughout the year. For confirmation for the go-ahead for each skate, check the FNS website. Both rollerbladers and rollerskaters are welcome but the Skate is meant for experienced skaters only and participants must be able to brake and turn at speed.
